How the Acadia University GPA calculator works
This page is primarily a semester or term GPA calculator. Each selected grade is matched to the grade-point value in the grading table on this page, multiplied by that course's credit or unit weight, and then divided by the total weight of the courses you entered.
The optional cumulative fields provide a quick projection only. When both your current cumulative GPA and completed credits or units are entered, the calculator combines that prior weighted average with the new term result.
Projected cumulative GPA formula: ((Current GPA × Completed Weight) + (Term GPA × Term Weight)) ÷ Total Weight

Understanding your GPA result
- Semester / term GPA is based only on the courses you entered in this calculator.
- Course weight matters: a course with more credits or units contributes more to a weighted GPA than a course with less weight.
- Projected cumulative GPA appears only when both optional historical fields are completed; it is an estimate, not an official transcript result.
- Scenario testing: change grades or course weights to see how different term outcomes affect the estimate.

Important limits of this GPA estimate
A weighted calculator cannot reproduce every academic policy. Use the result for planning and checking scenarios, then confirm official GPA treatment with Acadia University.
- Repeated courses: an institution may replace an earlier attempt, count both attempts, or apply another rule.
- Pass/fail, withdrawals, incomplete grades, and special codes: these may be excluded from GPA or handled differently.
- Transfer credit: transferred study may count toward program requirements without being included in the institutional GPA.
- Program-specific rules: some faculties or programs may use additional progression, rounding, or GPA rules.
